The frog

For ME 112: Mechanical Systems Design, we were tasked with designing and building a jumping, mynock-inspired robot that would stick to a felt "spaceship" 1 meter above with velcro. The device had to meet strict height and width requirements, store energy from a motor, and jump after enough energy was stored. We could not time the jump ourselves or with a microcontroller; instead, we had to devise a mechanism that would make the robot jump.

Ultimately, we successfully completed the mission, using an iterative design process to create The Frog and earning an A on the project. Our full report can be found here.
